Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that he is "really happy" for the families of the Hillsborough victims after a verdict of unlawful killing was delivered.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed his delight for the families of the Hillsborough victims after a jury ruled that 96 football fans were unlawfully killed in 1989.

It was confirmed yesterday that police failings led to the death of 96 Liverpool supporters at a football match in Sheffield 27 years ago.

"It was a very big moment for all the families and I am really happy for them," Klopp told reporters. "Finally, they got the justice they wanted.

"Twenty-seven years is an unbelievably long time. It shows all of us if you are ready to fight for truth and patient enough to wait then it can happen."

Klopp was speaking ahead of his side's Europa League semi-final first leg against Villarreal.

"We've watched Villarreal five or six times," Klopp added. "They defend in organised way. They are patient enough to wait for mistakes and then use those mistakes."

The first leg takes place in Spain tomorrow night before the return back at Anfield next week.
