Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge says that he is not worried about his thigh problem after suffering an injury against Bayern Munich.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has insisted that he will be "okay" after suffering an injury scare during his outing against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

The England international appeared to feel a twinge in his thigh after scoring in the Reds' 3-0 pre-season victory in the Audi Cup.

Sturridge, who has struggled with injury problems over the last few years, managed 20 minutes before he was substituted and replaced with Dominic Solanke.

Despite being taken off the pitch, the 27-year-old is not concerned that the problem will keep him on the sidelines for long.

"I think it's just fatigue to be honest, so I'll be okay," Sturridge told the club's official website. "I'm feeling great. I have put in the work, I trained a lot in the summer.

"I've not missed many sessions here, they have looked after me. We've done triple sessions and I have trained almost every single session. So I'm feeling great, the best I have felt for a while. I am looking forward to the season and hopefully we can have some success."

The striker, who started just seven Premier League games last season, has been ruled out of this evening's friendly with Atletico Madrid, but should be available for matches beyond then.
