Jurgen Klopp confirms that Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are both set to sit out Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion due to injury.

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho are both expected to miss Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Thiago has been out of action since suffering a calf injury against Crystal Palace last month, while Fabinho picked up a knee injury a couple of weeks ago.

The former has made his return to team training in recent days, and Naby Keita is also ready to make his comeback, but Klopp is still set to be short in midfield for Saturday's game.

Speaking to reporters at his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: "Naby Keita looks good, we were all surprised but he was lucky. I think he's ready.

"Fabinho doesn't look that good, it is not too complicated but it is likely to keep him out again. He is not in team training yet. Thiago trained in the whole session, but not ready to play tomorrow unfortunately."

The Reds are already without James Milner until after the next international break, while Harvey Elliott continues his recovery from a serious ankle injury.
