Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Shrewsbury Town

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's FA Cup fourth round meeting with Shrewsbury Town.

Liverpool travel to Shropshire on Sunday to face League One side Shrewsbury Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Premier League leaders are now 16 points clear of second-placed Manchester City and set up the tie with Sam Ricketts's side following their 1-0 win over Everton at Anfield in the previous round.

Sunday's match should give Jurgen Klopp the chance to rotate some of his squad as his side's schedule becomes more congested, with the Reds last in action against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday in a match they won 2-1.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this fixture.

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: January 26 (vs. Shrewsbury Town)

Xherdan Shaqiri has missed much of Liverpool's season so far with a calf injury and remains a major doubt for Sunday's fixture. The FA Cup is a competition in which Klopp would have liked to reintegrate the Swiss international, but he may have to wait until Liverpool's next Premier League fixture against West Ham United.

Dejan Lovren

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: January 26 (vs. Shrewsbury Town)

Dejan Lovren has been missing since December but should be fit to make a return on Sunday. The Croatia international has been back in full training this week and will hope to feature in Shropshire.

James Milner

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: February 1 (vs. Southampton)

James Milner is set to miss out until early February at the earliest with the club keen not to rush him back from his thigh injury. The former England man could feature against Southampton in Liverpool's next home game but is yet to return to return to full training.

Naby Keita

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: February 26 (vs. Shrewsbury Town)

Naby Keita is closing in on a return from the groin injury that has kept him out in recent weeks and is rated as 50/50 to face Shrewsbury. The 24-year-old has recently returned to training and should be ready to contend for a start against West Ham in Liverpool's next Premier League match.

Nathaniel Clyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Nathaniel Clyne is still recovering from the ACL injury he sustained over the summer and currently does not have an expected return date. There have been no updates on the former Crystal Palace man's condition in recent weeks.

Sadio Mane

Possible return date: Unknown

Sadio Mane was forced off during Liverpool's match with Wolves on Thursday and is being assessed. The Senegal international will play no part on Sunday and the club will check on his condition over the next few days.
