Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that his side will again be fighting for the major trophies next season following their Champions League disappointment.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted that his side will again be fighting for the major trophies next season.

The Reds lost out to Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title last weekend before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid in Saturday's Champions League final.

The Merseyside giants have ended the 2021-22 campaign with two trophies, though, lifting the EFL Cup and FA Cup, and Klopp has insisted that his team will be back again next term to challenge for major silverware.

"We played a good game, not a perfect game, but it would not have been possible against Real Madrid in a deep formation," Klopp told BT Sport. "We had a lot of shots, [Thibaut] Courtois made top saves, and we concede a goal after a throw.

"The boys tried absolutely everything, especially after we were 1-0 down, we then played like we wanted to play... but we wanted to be more brave in the second half.

"It is not bad to get to the final, it is already kind of success, not the success you want, I have a strong feeling that we come again because the boys are really competitive, and we will have an outstanding group again next year. No problem."

Vinicius Junior's 59th-minute effort proved to be the difference between the two teams in France, with Real Madrid winning the European Cup for the 14th time in their history.
