Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri is delighted with his side's "fantastic" performance as they rescued a late 2-2 draw against West Ham despite being reduced to 10 men.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has described his side's performance during their 2-2 draw with West Ham United this afternoon as "fantastic".

The Foxes took the lead through Jamie Vardy at the King Power Stadium, but he was sent off in the second half and West Ham scored twice in as many minutes late on to turn the game on its head.

The first of those goals came via a contentious penalty, and referee Jonathan Moss capped off an eventful performance by awarding another controversial spot kick to Leicester late on as they rescued a point in the 95th minute.

"The sending off changed our match. I judge my players not the referee, the referee is not my matter," Ranieri told Sky Sports News.

"Our performance was fantastic, this is our soul, we play every match with this, blood, heart and soul, it was magnificent. This point is very important psychologically."

The result sees league leaders Leicester move eight points clear of Tottenham Hotspur, who face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Monday night.

Andy Bloody Carroll scores his side's second during the Premier League game between West Ham United and Arsenal on April 9, 2016
