BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage slams any talk of Brendan Rodgers being sacked as Leicester City manager, brandishing the rumours as "nonsense."

Robbie Savage has brandished any talk of Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers being sacked as "nonsense."

The Foxes were defeated on Thursday against Liverpool, with the Reds walking away with a 2-0 victory thanks to a brace from Diogo Jota, which left them 12th placed in the Premier League table.

This result followed the heavy 4-1 loss that saw them knocked out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest, with the squad having only won a single game since the turn of the year, which has led to some question marks over the future of Rodgers.

"It is absolute nonsense, is it not? Two fifth-placed finishes, an FA Cup victory, rebuilding squads, the recruitment, surely he has credit in the bank for what he has achieved at Leicester," Savage told BT Sport.

"He needs his best players on the pitch on a regular basis to compete. To compete for Champions League, Leicester City, they were in League One not so long ago. He has done amazing."

Leicester City will be back in action on Sunday when they face West Ham United in the Premier League.
