Lazio president Claudio Lotito reveals that Marco Parolo is close to signing a new long-term contract with the Italian giants.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has revealed that experienced midfielder Marco Parolo is close to signing a new long-term contract with the Italian giants.

Parolo's current contract will expire in the summer of 2019, but it is understood that the fresh deal will see the Italian international committed to Lazio until 2022, when he will be 37 years old.

"I met him this afternoon to sort the contract," Football Italia quotes Lotito as saying at a charity dinner on Thursday night.

Parolo, who has earned 26 caps for the Italian national team, joined Lazio from Parma in 2014. Last season, the midfielder scored six times in 40 appearances for his Italian club.
