Jack Storer is on the scoresheet twice for Birmingham City as the Championship outfit end their pre-season programme with a 4-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers.

Birmingham City have made light work of Kidderminster Harriers in their final summer friendly by recording a 4-0 victory at Aggborough.

The Blues fielded a number of first-team players against the National League North outfit, despite their league season getting underway in just four days' time.

Jack Storer was on the scoresheet twice for the visitors, taking three minutes to bag his first when latching on to a through-ball and calmly slotting past the onrushing keeper.

The 18-year-old was involved in the second goal, too, as he played in Andrew Shinnie on the overlap for the Scotsman to blast home from 18 yards out.

Birmingham remained well on top as the contest progressed, seeing a James Vaughan penalty appeal turned down and one effort end narrowly wide of the target.

Neil Smith's men had a couple of chances of their own which were squandered, and City made their opponents count the cost after Vaughan tapped in a rebound from close range to make it two.

A number of changes in the second half made for a slower tempo to the Blues' play, with a wayward Vaughan header the closest they came to a fourth prior to the hour mark.

Storer ensured that Birmingham did have another goal to celebrate, though, shooting first time into the top corner in front of the 1,137 watching spectators to round off the scoring.

Only a fine stop at the death denied Storer a hat-trick, although it mattered little in the end as City - who face Cardiff City at St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon - ended their pre-season programme in comfortable style.
