Mick McCarthy: 'Alex Henshall can leave Ipswich Town'

Mick McCarthy says that it is time winger Alex Henshall "moved on" and left Ipswich Town.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that Alex Henshall is "available for transfer".

The 21-year-old left-sider joined Ipswich from Manchester City last summer but made just four Championship appearances last season.

He hasn't featured once in the matchday squad this season and McCarthy today said that he can find a new club.

"Alex is available for transfer," McCarthy told the club website. "He is not going to get in front of the other lads here and it's time he moved on. I've told him that."

Henshall still has a year remaining on his Ipswich contract.
