Sheffield United youngster David Brooks, who starred for England at the Toulon Tournament this summer, is reportedly attracting interest from Everton.

Everton are weighing up an offer to sign teenage midfielder David Brooks from Sheffield United, according to a report.

The 19-year-old was due to join Chesterfield on loan as part of the deal that saw Ched Evans move in the opposite direction, only for the Blades to allegedly break a verbal agreement between the two sides.

According to The Telegraph, the Championship outfit reneged on the transfer at the last minute due to interest from clubs higher up the English football pyramid.

Everton are said to be among those with a close eye on Brooks, who was named as Player of the Tournament at the Toulon Tournament earlier this month.

Brooks, a scorer in the final for winners England, has yet to make a league start for United since joining from Manchester City's academy three years ago.
