Everton's Theo Walcott hails 'much-needed' win over Newcastle United

Everton winger Theo Walcott revels in his side's "much-needed" win against Newcastle United.

Everton winger Theo Walcott has described his side's 1-0 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League as "much-needed".

The former Arsenal star, who scored the game's only goal, heaped praise on his teammates after they banded together to reverse a run of three games without a win.

"It was a much-needed three points after a disappointing run of results. All credit to the guys. They dug in tonight," Walcott told Sky Sports News.

"It's been hit and miss this season but there's more to come from us. Considering our start to the season, we are happy to be where we are right now. We need to focus on ourselves and have more confidence in each other ahead of next season."

Everton moved up to eighth place in the table after defeating Newcastle.
