Iceland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson suggests that England posed his side fewer problems than Austria in Euro 2016.

Iceland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson has admitted that he felt "more relaxed" watching his side play against England in Euro 2016 than Austria during the group stage.

Goals from Ragnar Sigurdsson and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson cancelled out an early Wayne Rooney penalty and fired the Scandinavian minnows into the last eight of the competition, condemning the Three Lions to a humiliating defeat.

"I was more relaxed than during the game against Austria. If someone had told me a few years ago that we would reach the last eight I have to say I would not believe it," Hallgrimsson told reporters.

"No obstacle is too big for these guys now."

England manager Roy Hodgson announced that he is stepping down as coach of the national team following their shock defeat to Iceland.
