Crystal Palace announce that Loic Remy has joined the club on loan from Chelsea for the 2016-17 campaign.

Chelsea striker Loic Remy has joined Crystal Palace on loan for the 2016-17 season.

The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Michy Batshuayi, failing to make a single appearance under Antonio Conte so far.

The France international, who joined Chelsea in 2014, will now spend the upcoming campaign at Selhurst Park, where he will be reunited with manager Alan Pardew following their time together at Newcastle United.

"This is a very good chance for me and a big opportunity. It was very important to know Alan Pardew as he is a very good manager and I am happy to be here," he told the club's official website.

Pardew added: "Loic has been a target of mine throughout this transfer window and I'm delighted the deal has been done. I brought him to Newcastle so I know what he is capable of and I am convinced he will be a quality addition to our squad as we evolve.

"Loic has international and Champions League experience as well as being a Premier League title winner and is the latest example of the high calibre of players we have brought into the club during this transfer window".

Remy scored 12 goals in 47 appearances during his two years with Chelsea.

Loic Remy celebrates scoring their second goal during the UEFA Champions League Group G football match between Chelsea and Porto at Stamford Bridge in London on December 9, 2015.
