Bryan Ruiz looking forward to "special" England game

Costa Rica forward Bryan Ruiz admits that he can't wait to face England in their World Cup Group D clash on Tuesday after guiding his side into the knockout stages.

Costa Rica forward Bryan Ruiz has revealed that it will be a "special" moment for him to play against England at the World Cup after guiding his side into the knockout stages.

The 28-year-old scored the winner to fire his side to victory over Italy and book their place in the second round of the tournament, following their win over Uruguay in the first match.

Ruiz told reporters: "Now, playing against England in the last game of the group will be special for me, too, after my time at Fulham.

"England will think it will not be easy to play against us. We have showed we can play with great character. They will know it will not be easy to beat us.

"It means so much for me to make it to the World Cup and now for Costa Rica to get into round two is a dream, too. England are under pressure. We accept they have more experience and a better league in England. But we know what we can do."
