Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku is willing to take a pay cut on his current wages to return to Inter Milan on loan, according to a report.

Chelsea centre-forward Romelu Lukaku is reportedly willing to take a pay cut on his current wages in order to secure a move back to Inter Milan.

There is currently huge uncertainty at Stamford Bridge after club owner Roman Abramovich was hit with sanctions by the UK Government, and there have been suggestions that the Blues could be forced to move on some of their highest-earning players this summer.

Lukaku returned to Chelsea last year in a club-record deal, but the Belgium international has struggled to show his best form this season, managing just five Premier League goals.

The 28-year-old said in an interview with Italian media at the end of last year that he was already looking to secure a return to Inter as soon as possible.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Lukaku is willing to lower his wage demands to secure a loan switch to Inter at the end of the campaign.

The report claims that the striker 'has to be moved' due to Chelsea's current problems, and he would choose to return to the Italian champions over any other club despite suggestions that Barcelona are keeping tabs on the situation.

Lukaku scored 64 goals and registered 16 assists in 95 appearances for Inter after moving to the Serie A giants from Manchester United in the summer of 2019.
