Maurizio Sarri's fate as head coach of Chelsea will be decided in the next two weeks, according to a report.

Maurizio Sarri's fate as head coach of Chelsea will reportedly be decided in the next two weeks.

Sarri only took charge of Chelsea last summer following a successful period with Napoli.

The Blues made a strong start to the campaign, but their Premier League form has been inconsistent in recent weeks, which has seen them drop out of the Champions League positions.

Chelsea were thumped 6-0 at Manchester City on Sunday afternoon and the odds on Sarri being sacked have been slashed following the disappointing result at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea assistant Gianfranco Zola has been strongly linked with the managerial position at Stamford Bridge, with the club said to be prepared to promote from within to fill the role for the rest of the season.

According to The Telegraph, Sarri's future will be decided over the next two weeks, with the Blues facing Malmo over two legs in the knockout round of the Europa League, in addition to Manchester United in the FA Cup on February 18.

The capital outfit, meanwhile, will then take on Man City in the EFL Cup final on February 24.

Chelsea's next Premier League match is at home to Tottenham Hotspur on February 27.
