The buildup to the summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Chelsea eye possible reinforcements.

The Blues failed to bring in a single player during the January window, despite seeing their transfer ban cut short by FIFA.

Chelsea willing to offer world-record fee for Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak?

Chelsea are reportedly willing to break the bank to secure a deal for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak this summer.

The Slovenia international has established a reputation as one of the world's best goalkeepers during his time in the Spanish capital, and Oblak has kept 16 clean sheets from 36 La Liga outings this season.

Chelsea already own the world's most expensive goalkeeper in the form of Kepa Arrizabalaga, but Frank Lampard is supposedly seeking replacements for the Spaniard after an underwhelming campaign at Stamford Bridge.

According to AS, the Blues would be willing to offer a fee of €100m (£90.7m) in order to pry Oblak away from Atletico during the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old would become the world's most expensive shot-stopper should that deal come to fruition, but the report claims that Diego Simeone's side are determined to keep hold of Oblak and are therefore unlikely to sanction a sale.

Oblak penned a new deal with Atletico last year, and his current contract at the Wanda Metropolitano is set to run until the end of the 2022-23 season.



Chelsea handed boost in Kai Havertz pursuit?

Chelsea have reportedly been handed a boost in their efforts to sign Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz.

While the Blues have long been regarded as the favourites for the Germany international, it has previously been claimed that the 21-year-old may only be prepared to consider a move to a club who have qualified for the Champions League.

With Chelsea yet to achieve a spot in European football's premier competition, the uncertainly could potentially lead to Havertz considering other options.

However, according to BBC Sport, Champions League football will not be a deciding factor when the attacker chooses his next destination.

Nevertheless, any interested club could have to pay £75m for his services, something which may only be possible with participation in that competition.

Ahead of next season, Havertz has already witnessed Chelsea bring in Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively.
