Celtic have cruised into the final of the Scottish Cup thanks to a resounding 4-0 win over Old Firm rivals Rangers in Sunday's semi-final at Hampden Park.

The Hoops were quick out of the starting blocks and came within a whisker of taking the lead on five minutes but for the woodwork.

Olivier Ntcham whipped a cross into the box for Moussa Dembele, who swivelled and volleyed towards goal, only for the ball to ricochet off the post.

Celtic continued to press against Rangers, who lacked bite and struggled to get into the opposition half, before the breakthrough came on 21 minutes.

Dembele and James Forrest combined to set up Tom Rogic, who turned inside the box and rifled beyond Wes Foderingham to give the Bhoys a deserved lead.

Celtic then doubled their advantage seven minutes before the break as Russell Martin's clearance from Kieran Tierney's cross fell to the feet of Callum McGregor, who duly slotted past Foderingham.

Things would get worse for Rangers just minutes after the restart, Ross McCrorie pulling down Dembele in the box to earn a red card and bestow a penalty upon Brendan Rodgers's side.

Dembele stepped up to the spot and sent Foderingham the wrong way for his seventh goal in nine games against the Blues.

Alfredo Morelos was then denied three times by Craig Gordon in quick succession and, on 77 minutes, substitute Jason Holt brought down Patrick Roberts for a second Celtic penalty.

This time, Dembele handed the ball to Ntcham, who made no mistake from 12 yards to cap off a stunning victory for Celtic.

The Parkhead side will take on Motherwell in the final on May 19 in search of a 'double treble'.

CELTIC (4-2-3-1): Gordon; Lustig, Ajer, Boyata, Tierney; Brown, Ntcham; Forrest (Roberts 73'), Rogic (Sinclair 60'), McGregor; Dembele (Griffiths 79')

RANGERS (4-2-3-1): Foderingham; Tavernier, McCrorie, Martin, John; Docherty, Halliday (Windass 41'); Candeias (Alves 53'), Dorrans (Holt 73'), Murphy; Morelos
