Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has praised the way Burnley set up against them during their recent 1-1 draw in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has praised the performance of Burnley following their recent draw.

The two teams shared the points on Saturday in a match that finished 1-1, with a Luka Milivojevic own goal helping the Clarets, despite Jeffrey Schlupp originally giving his side the lead.

The Eagles now only have one victory in their previous six Premier League matches, which came against Watford on Wednesday night, with the club currently sat 11th in the table.

"They made it really difficult for us and we could not play from the back. They put us under pressure and forced us to play too many long balls that suited their game," Vieira told the press.

"All credit to them because they stopped us playing and they scored the goal where we knew that was their strength. They played the long ball and we did not defend it well because of the space, at that time, in our back four."

Crystal Palace will be back in action on Tuesday night when they face Stoke City in the FA Cup.
