Brighton midfielder Anthony Knockaert urges his side to learn from their 1-1 draw with Everton, but is happy with the start they have made to the season.

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Anthony Knockaert has insisted that his side will learn from their late draw against Everton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday.

Knockaert had put the Seagulls ahead with an 82nd-minute strike, but Wayne Rooney converted a penalty in the final minute of normal time to rescue a share of the spoils for Ronald Koeman's side.

The result means that Brighton remain level on points with the Toffees, and despite letting their lead slip, Knockaert is still pleased with the start his newly-promoted side have made to life in the Premier League.

"We will learn from that. But if you look at our start to the season, it's not been bad. We've played some really good teams," he told the club's official website.

"My goal could have brought three points but obviously we conceded a poor one at the end. But it's still a good point to take against a strong Everton team.

"We've managed to get eight points from eight games, so it's a good start and we have to keep on going."

Brighton are in action again on Friday when they take on West Ham United at the London Stadium.
