Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says that his side are "desperate" to continue their good form following their 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has said that his side are "desperate" to continue their good form following their 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

The Cherries came from behind to secure a crucial victory over the Gunners, who slipped up after wins for their top-four rivals last weekend.

Howe's team are now 13th in the Premier League table, four points above the relegation zone, and the Englishman has called on his squad to build on the momentum gained last time out.

"Positive momentum is a hard thing to get when you're in the Premier League," the manager told Sky Sports News. "We are desperate to continue that and keep the good form that we're in.

"We have to make sure we make the right decisions for the team and the individuals concerned but of course we want to go through," he said when questioned about Bournemouth's FA Cup replay with Wigan Athletic.

"To do that, we have to start the game better than we did the first game. I always prefer to look at things positively - it's another game and an opportunity for players to play and do well."

The south coast club, who drew 2-2 with their League One opponents earlier this month, will face either Shrewsbury Town or West Ham United if they defeat Wigan on Wednesday.
