Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman affirms that he is happy with his Barcelona squad after La Blaugrana's underwhelming transfer activity during the summer window.

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that he is happy with his current crop of players at Camp Nou despite a disrupted summer of spending.

The Catalan giants were linked with a host of big names throughout the summer, namely Memphis Depay and Lautaro Martinez, but the coronavirus pandemic affected a cash-strapped Barcelona heavily and Koeman's side missed out on a number of transfer targets.

However, the Blaugrana manager has accepted the stark reality of the current economic climate, and Koeman confirmed that he is satisfied with what he is working with at Camp Nou.

"I'm happy with the squad we have. We have tried to improve it in some areas, and we were successful at some points and not so in others," Koeman told Barca TV.

"This is also part of the club's financial situation; we have to accept that and learn to work with it. We have had three games, against Villarreal and Celta we were very good, against Sevilla, a top team who will fight for the top positions, the physical wear on us was clear.

"The performance against Sevilla wasn't what we wanted. We must improve, but we have to also recognise that we have only been working with this new system for five weeks, like any coach you always crave more time."

Barcelona have taken seven points from a possible nine in the 2020-21 La Liga season, beating Villarreal and Celta Vigo before playing out a 1-1 stalemate with Sevilla before the international break.
