Barcelona B draw their first Segunda Division game under new manager Jordi Vinyals as a toothless attacking display sees them held 0-0 by Alaves at the Mini Estadi.

Barcelona B produced a toothless attacking performance as they drew 0-0 with Alaves in their first Segunda Division game under new manager Jordi Vinyals.

Vinyals was appointed successor to the sacked Eusebio Sacristan this week, but could not inspire an immediate improvement in performance or result.

The young Catalonians had Adama Traore, Munir El Haddadi, and Sandro Ramirez, all of whom have played several times for the first team this season, in a three-man forward line.

However, they managed to convert their 58% possession into just a couple of decent chances, which were squandered by Ramirez either side of half time.

Alaves had problems making the most of their opportunities, if not creating them, hitting the target with only one of their eight attempts on goal.

Despite a disappointing evening's work, Barca climb one place to 16th in the table, two points and three places behind their opponents.
