Genoa striker Giovanni Simeone reveals that he wants to join his father Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

The son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has revealed that he "would love" to play his football at the Vicente Calderon.

Giovanni Simeone, who joined Genoa from River Plate in the summer, has scored four times in 11 appearances for his Italian club this season, including a brace against Juventus at the weekend.

The forward is already eyeing a departure from Italian football, however, and has spoken of his desire to make the move to 'family club' Atletico.

"I would love to play for Atletico," Simeone told Cadena Ser. "Not just because of how the club has treated my father but because of how they have treated our whole family. They are a great club, very humble."

Simeone Jr came through the youth ranks at River Plate before making the move to Genoa.
