Aston Villa chairman Steve Hollis has refused to confirm whether or not manager Remi Garde will be in charge of the club next season.

The Midlands outfit are currently rooted to the bottom of the table, nine points adrift of safety after winning just three of their 30 Premier League games.

Garde has previously poured doubt over his own future at Villa Park, but the uncertainty has grown after Hollis said that the board will review his position.

"Let's see where the review goes," Hollis told Sky Sports News. "Let's not try and preempt everything, let's do things properly. We're not going to make knee-jerk decisions."

The comments come a day after chief executive Tom Fox stepped down from his role.
