Sporting Lisbon are reportedly close to securing a season-long loan deal for Arsenal winger Joel Campbell.

Arsenal have reportedly decided to allow Joel Campbell to sign a season-long loan deal with Sporting Lisbon.

Last season, Campbell made 30 appearances in all competitions as Arsene Wenger gave the Costa Rica international a chance in the first team after a succession of loan spells but it appears that he will again be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium.

According to Portuguese publication Ojogo, the two clubs reached an agreement on Friday evening and the 24-year-old is expected to progress with the move should he pass a medical.

If a deal is completed, it will be the fifth time that Campbell has been loaned out by the Gunners since he joined the club in 2011.
