Mesut Ozil's talks with Arsenal regarding a new contract are "going well", according to the player's agent Dr Erkut Sogut.

Mesut Ozil's agent Dr Erkut Sogut has claimed that progress is being made in relation to a potential new contract for his client at Arsenal.

The German World Cup winner will become a free agent at the end of the season if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal.

Talk emerged in the summer of Ozil's possible departure, but the midfielder ended up staying at the Emirates, along with Alexis Sanchez, who is in the same contract situation.

Manchester United and Inter Milan have been linked with moves for the ex-Real Madrid star, but Sogut has suggested that his client could agree fresh terms with Arsenal.

"Ozil wants to play another two-three years in the Premier League," the footballer's representative told Fanatik. "Talks with Arsenal are ongoing regarding a new deal, what I can say right now is that negotiations are going well."

Reports have claimed that Ozil's suitors are struggling to meet his demand of £330,000-a-week wages.
