Chelsea are growing increasingly confident of pulling off a deal to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal, according to reports.

Chelsea have reportedly edged closer to a deal for Arsenal and England winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The 23-year-old is into the last 12 months of his current deal with the Gunners and has held talks about signing a new long-term contract.

However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out selling Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud in the transfer window but is yet to make the same assurance over Oxlade-Chamberlain.

According to the Evening Standard, no fee has yet been agreed but negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing and the Blues have received sufficient encouragement to believe that a transfer is possible.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has made 196 appearances for the North Londoners since his move to the Emirates Stadium in 2011, scoring 20 goals and registering 32 assists.
