Pop Idol winner Will Young has paid tribute to Darius Danesh following his untimely death at the age of 41 earlier this month.
The singer was found dead in his Minnesota apartment on August 11, with no immediate cause of death apparent.
Young, who appeared alongside Danesh in the inaugural series of Pop Idol in 2001-02, took to social media to share a throwback photo of the pair from their time on the show.
"For the past few days my thoughts have been with Darius's family and will continue to be so," he wrote in the accompanying message.
"I found this picture a while ago taken during Pop Idol.
"If there was ever an example of not giving up on your dreams then Darius is top of the pile. Driven, courageous and gentle.
"My love goes to his family at this time."
Police in the US are continuing to investigate the cause of Danesh's death.
