Jesse Armstrong reveals that he has almost completed work on the scripts for Succession season four.

Succession creator Jesse Armstrong has revealed that he has almost completed writing scripts for season four.

The third season of the acclaimed drama, which stars Brian Cox as foul-mouthed media mogul Logan Roy, ended on a cliffhanger of sorts as Logan agreed to a buyout of his empire against his children's wishes.

Talking about the next season at this year's BAFTA TV Awards, Armstrong told reporters: "We're almost done with the writing for season 4, here in London, with the American writers coming over.

"They're a really great group of people to talk about the nuances of character and the world and what we're doing on the show."

Armstrong also hinted that season four of the show might not be the last, adding: "I won't answer [questions about the future] precisely. I don't think it should go on forever. But we're still having fun at the moment."

Filming on the new season is expected to begin later this year for broadcast in 2023.
