Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk reveals that he is in discussions with Netflix about the possibility of two more seasons.

Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has revealed that he is in discussions with Netflix about making two more seasons of the show.

The Korean survival drama - about a group of contestants competing in a series of literal life-or-death games - was a global smash when it was released on the streaming service in September, quickly becoming Netflix's most-watched show to date.

Netflix is keen to commission a new season, having paid just $21.4m (£15.6m) for the first season, and is now engaged with Hwang about the finances and practicalities of future episodes.

"I'm in talks with Netflix over season two as well as season three," he told KBS in quotes reported by the Radio Times. "We will come to a conclusion any time soon."

Hwang recently revealed that Lee Jung-jae will return as lead character Seong Gi-hun in Squid Game's second season.
