Amazon Prime Video announces details of a new documentary centred around Polish superstar striker Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is to be the subject of a new documentary for Amazon Prime Video, it has been announced.

The streaming service has gained a reputation in recent years for its high-level access to the world's top sporting stars and clubs, having produced documentaries on the likes of Manchester City, Juventus and the New Zealand All Blacks.

The new series will go behind the scenes of the 32-year-old's personal and professional life, telling the story of the Poland international's glittering career with contributions from friends, family and colleagues.

"The idea behind the documentary is quite unique and it's one of the reasons why we have decided to go ahead with it," he said.

"We would like to share the story of highs and lows, strengths and weaknesses without any filters - to present the history as it truly happened.

"The documentary will present many aspects of my career which football fans find interesting. However, I hope those viewers who don't regularly follow football will also appreciate all these little details.

"I would like the documentary to become an inspiration for those kids who dream of achieving something big but they don't believe they can."

The documentary will be released via Prime Video at some point in 2022.
