Tom Sizemore has died in his sleep at the age of 61 at a hospital in Los Angeles, it was confirmed over the weekend.
The actor - known for films including Saving Private Ryan, Heat and Black Hawk Down - suffered a brain aneurysm brought on by a stroke on February 18 and never regained consciousness.
Last week his agent Charles Lago revealed that doctors had recommended end-of-life options and now it has been announced that Sizemore has died after his life support was withdrawn.
"I am very saddened by the loss of not only a client but a great friend and mentor of almost 15 years," said Lago in a statement.
"Tom was one of the most sincere, kind and generous human beings I have had the pleasure of knowing.
"His courage and determination through adversity was always an inspiration to me.
"The past couple of years were great for him and he was getting his life back to a great place.
"He loved his sons and his family.
"I will miss my friend Tom Sizemore greatly."
Sizemore is survived by his twin sons Jayden and Jagger.
