BBC confirms trio of MasterChef specials for Christmas

The BBC announces details of three special editions of MasterChef airing on BBC One over the Christmas period.

The BBC has announced details of three special editions of MasterChef to air over the festive period.

The first, MasterChef Champions Special, will see former champions Tim Anderson (2011), Ping Coombes (2014), Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed (2017), Kenny Tutt (2018) and Irini Tzortzoglou (2019) return to the show for a one-off competition with the hopes of being named the first ever Champion of Champions.

MasterChef: The Professionals Rematch Special features three finalists from the 2020 series, Philli Armitage-Mattin, Santosh Shah and Bart van der Lee, and 2017 finalist Jamie Park back in the kitchen to deliver "a show-stopping seasonal feast that is creative, delicious and spectacular enough see them crowned champion".

Over the course of two episodes, 10 famous faces from past series of the celeb edition are back to compete in Celebrity MasterChef Christmas Cook-Off.

Those taking part are confirmed as Gemma Collins, Joe Swash, Les Dennis, Mica Paris, Richard Coles, Oti Mabuse, Joey Essex, Neil Ruddock, Judi Love and Su Pollard.

All three specials will air on BBC One and iPlayer.
