Liverpool legend John Barnes appears to confirm that he will appear on this year's I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

Former Liverpool winger John Barnes has hinted that he has signed up to appear on this year's edition of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

The 56-year-old pundit previously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2007 and finished seventh, memorably earning a 10 from the judges after impressing with his salsa.

Despite the ongoing threat of coronavirus, ITV are still pressing ahead with plans to air I'm A Celebrity from Australia in November and now Barnes has suggested that he will be part of the lineup.

"I've done a number of shows in my days, from Family Fortunes to Strictly Come Dancing but nothing as adventurous as I'm a Celeb," he told BonusCodeBets. "And to be honest, there's nothing that I wouldn't eat or anything I wouldn't do. I'm fairly easy-going. If they asked me to do something, I'd do it.

"And from the point of view of eating anything, I eat everything and anything, so I'd probably be ideal for the show. The only fear I have is of sharks so by saying this I'm sure they're going to put me in a tank with sharks but I guess that's the nature of the game. But everything else I would be fine with.

"Similar to why I went on to do Strictly Come Dancing all those years ago, it'd be good to lose some weight, perhaps try to beat Nick Knowles's two-stone weight loss."

Other names in the frame for this year's show include Beverley Callard, Eric Cantona, Charles Ingram and AJ Pritchard.
