The BBC is reportedly keen to sign up 'Price Tag' singer Jessie J to represent the UK at Eurovision in 2022.

Jessie J is reportedly the top choice to represent the UK at next year's Eurovision Song Contest in Italy.

Once again the UK finished bottom of the leaderboard at the contest - held in Rotterdam last month - as James Newman failed to secure a point from either the European juries or the viewing public.

According to The Sun, the BBC is already working on plans for next year's entry and have made an approach to 'Price Tag' singer Jessie J in what would be a high-profile signing.

"The production team are desperate to make a fresh start after this year's flop and are trying to lure top talent with promises of lucrative record sales and international exposure," a source told the newspaper.

"They are determined to come back fighting and think Jessie would be perfect. She has a huge following in Europe.

"But Jessie is in demand, so pinning her down might be harder than they think."

Jessie J is no stranger to big singing competitions, having participated in - and won - one of China's biggest music reality shows, Singer, in 2018.
