Andy Devine, known for playing Shadrach Dingle on Emmerdale, has died at the age of 79.
Public records have revealed that the actor died on January 27, although news of his passing has only emerged in the last few days.
Devine starred as fan favourite Shadrach between 2000 and 2010, when his character was killed off as part of an alcoholism storyline.
During his career, Devine was also known for playing Bernard in Queer As Folk, while he also had guest roles in Coronation Street and Doctor Who.
A cause of death has yet to be disclosed.
