Three of June Brown's real-life children will make a cameo appearance in EastEnders for Dot's funeral on Monday.
The Walford legend has been written out of the soap following the death of Brown at the age of 95 earlier this year.
In Monday's episode, the residents of the Square come together to pay their respects to Dot for one last time, and Brown's children will be seen among the mourners.
Discussing the episode, exec producer Chris Clenshaw said: "We knew that we couldn't put it off for much longer, and as we started to discuss the episodes we of course spoke to June's family, who also knew that this is what their mother would have wanted.
"In fact, June's children, Nim, Sophie and Billy, knew how much EastEnders meant to their mother, so much that they requested to attend Dot's funeral to say their goodbyes, which was absolutely lovely for all of those involved.
"You know, stories were shared throughout the day, which was just gorgeous."
Dot's funeral airs in EastEnders, Monday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
