Eve Myles reveals that she has not been contacted about a revival of Torchwood and denies rumours of a rift with John Barrowman.

Eve Myles has revealed that she has not been contacted about a potential revival of Torchwood and has also denied rumours of a rift with co-star John Barrowman.

The Doctor Who spinoff ran for four seasons between 2006 and 2011, with Myles and Barrowman on the cast as Gwen and Captain Jack throughout the entire run.

Speculation that a revival could be on the cards began following the news that show creator Russell T Davies was returning to take charge of Doctor Who - and those rumours were strengthened further after the BBC agreed a huge investment deal with Disney+ for the main show and potential spinoff shows.

Earlier this week, however, Barrowman sparked controversy when he appeared to suggest that Myles had been "spewing rhetoric" over the closeness of their relationship, and he subsequently quit Twitter altogether amid the furore.

Taking to social media on Thursday, Myles wrote: "Hello. John & I have talked & all is fine. We loved working together & given the opportunity we would jump back into Gwen & Jack tomorrow!

"Please can the hating stop. It's so upsetting. Please!

"Also nobody has approached me for a reboot, sorry to say. Have a peaceful Xmas all."

Davies recently promised Who fans "lots of content, on and on" but warned that "it takes a while to get the empire in shape".
