Nathan Graham will leave his role as James Bailey on Coronation Street in the coming weeks, it has been revealed.
The youngest son of the Bailey family first appeared on the soap in May 2019 and was part of an important storyline that saw the character, who plays as a footballer for Weatherfield County, come out as gay.
In recent weeks James suffered a devastating cardiac arrest while playing in a charity game, leaving his future footballing career in jeopardy.
"James will have to choose between his love of his footballing career and his health," a source told The Sun.
"His exit will see him leave behind Weatherfield for a new start away from the street."
James's departure from the cobbles comes at a curious time, following on mere days from the arrival of his big sister Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) in Weatherfield.
