Maureen Lipman has returned to work on Coronation Street for the first time following the death of her long-term partner earlier this year.
Guido Castro died in January after contracting coronavirus while battling a form of Parkinson's Disease.
The couple had been together for 13 years, and following his death Lipman - Evelyn Plummer on Corrie - took the decision to take time off and delay her return to work until she had received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
Evelyn was last seen in episodes shown in February - and in her absence, her grandson Tyrone has decided to end his relationship with Fiz after falling in love with Alina.
"Maureen made the sensible decision to be fully vaccinated before she got back to work, but now she is and she is raring to go," a source told The Sun.
"The cast and crew have missed having her around and work is a really welcome distraction for her.
"Viewers will be desperate to see how she reacts to Tyrone cheating and can look forward to some fireworks from the battleaxe."
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
