England star Ben Stokes 'spotted flying out to New Zealand, not Australia'

England all-rounder Ben Stokes reportedly flies to New Zealand, despite initial rumours that he was heading to Australia for The Ashes.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has reportedly flown to New Zealand, not Australia where his nation are currently playing in The Ashes.

The 26-year-old, who has been under police investigation after allegedly getting involved in a street brawl in Bristol, was not included in the squad that travelled Down Under.

After Stokes was spotted with cricket equipment at London Heathrow airport, rumours swirled on Twitter that he was heading out to Australia ahead of the second Test.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the all-rounder's trip was arranged for New Zealand, where he will visit family and work on his recovery from a broken hand.

England lost the opening Test by 10 wickets.
