Luis Ortiz: 'I wanted to knock Malik Scott out'

Luis Ortiz admits that Malik Scott's gameplan frustrated him following his points victory over the American.

Luis Ortiz has admitted he is disappointed that he failed to knock Malik Scott out following his unanimous points victory over the American.

The Cuban, who saw off his opponent convincingly to bolster his claim for a world title shot, has revealed that Scott's gameplan frustrated him.

"Malik was running around the ring and made it hard for me to fight," he told Sky Sports News.

"Everybody comes to see a show and see someone fight and brawl. It made it hard for me. I'm a little disappointed because I wanted to knock him out, but he was moving around and made it hard."

Ortiz is now undefeated across his 26 professional career fights following the win in Monte Carlo.
