Daniel Dubois talks up his chances of dethroning Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed heavyweight title showdown at Wembley on Saturday night.

Daniel Dubois has vowed to become "the man" when he squares off against Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed world heavyweight title showdown at Wembley Stadium.

Saturday night will see the pair renew their rivalry nearly two years on from their first bout in Wroclaw when Usyk won by ninth round stoppage.

There was controversy during that clash, a debatable body shot from Dubois being deemed a low blow and Usyk ultimately benefitting from the subsequent recovery period to dominate the rest of the fight.

Since then, Usyk has two victories over Tyson Fury to his name, but Dubois has rebuilt his career with excellent wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Dubois talked up his chances of causing a major upset, claiming that he will 'write his own script'.

Dubois speaks on Usyk fight

The Briton said: "Right now I just want to get it on. I'm going to write my own script. They've got their script and I'll write my own.

I'm going to win these belts and I'm going to be the man."

Earlier in the media briefing, he said: "I prepared right. I'm on a different level now and ready to come through whatever on Saturday to get them belts.

"This is history-making. I've got to do a real demolition job. I'm hungry and ready for it."

Meanwhile, Usyk admitted that he remains motivated to stay at the top of the sport through representing Ukraine when they remain at war with Russia.

Usyk said: "Every fight is important for me and my team. Now it's very important for my country and soldiers who protect my country. Because it motivates my people and it's very important to me."

He added: "I respect this young guy. He is motivated but I am too. I am not old guy. 38 is not old. We will see. It's Saturday."

Parker in attendance at Wembley

WBO interim heavyweight champion Joseph Parker was in attendance at the press conference and has a vested interested in who prevails.

Parker had been due to face Dubois in February before the Briton's late withdrawal due to illness, with the likelihood being that he will get his world title shot at some point over the next six months against Usyk, Dubois or for a vacant belt.
