Sky Sports is reportedly willing to compromise over the kickoff time of a potential Christmas Eve fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League.

Sky Sports has reportedly indicated that it is willing to allow a Christmas Eve fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool to take place at lunchtime.

Since reports emerged that the broadcaster was keen for the game at the Emirates Stadium to be pushed back until 4pm on December 24, Liverpool have put forward their case that the match should remain on its current date of Saturday, December 23.

Sky remains insistent that it wants to stage a Premier League game on Christmas Eve but according to the Daily Star, there may be scope for the contest to start at 12.30pm.

Liverpool had highlighted that the club's supporters would face a 210-mile journey back to Merseyside much later than 6pm should Sky stick to its plans of ending a 22-year wait for another top-flight game on the day before Christmas.

In 1995, Leeds United hosted Manchester United in a match which was allowed to kick off at midday.
