Nico Rosberg "pleased" with Abu Dhabi pole position

Mercedes's Nico Rosberg admits that he is "pleased" with his pace after securing pole position for a sixth straight race.

Nico Rosberg has admitted that he is "pleased" to have secured pole position for a sixth straight race after setting the fastest time in qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The German, who has won the last two races in Mexico and Brazil, finished ahead of Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, who has already secured the drivers title.

The 30-year-old told BBC Sport: "Before it was close in the other direction and now it's close in this direction. I am quicker at the moment and I am pleased about that and happy to be on pole again."

Rosberg has just one podium finish is six previous attempts at the Yas Marina Circuit.
