Chile coach willing to risk Arturo Vidal suspension

Jorge Sampaoli is willing to risk suspension for Arturo Vidal in bid to help Chile win their World Cup group.

Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli has hinted that he is ready to take a risk on midfielder Arturo Vidal in a bid to win Group B by beating the Netherlands.

Vidal will miss La Roja's last 16 tie if he were to pick up a yellow card, but Sampaoli suggested that Chile need to finish in first, which would likely mean avoiding Brazil in the next round.

He told reporters: "There is a context which is real, which is protecting a player and that's respectable.

"But we need to win the group because that will give us a way of looking to the future in a different manner."

Chile can finish top of Group B with a win, but a draw would see Netherlands end in first place due to their superior goal difference.
