Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez is confident that his side will be able to beat the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United to fourth place when play resumes.

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez has insisted that his side can finish in the top four once the 2019-20 season resumes.

Premier League action has been suspended indefinitely as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, bringing a halt to the campaign with most teams still having nine games of their season remaining.

Wolves went into the enforced break in sixth place, five points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea, and Jimenez is confident that Nuno Espirito Santo's men can bridge that gap once play gets underway again.

"It's big for a team that was promoted [two years ago] and this is only our second season in the Premier League. We know that we can do it," the Mexico international told Sky Sports News.

"We can fight for it and I don't think we're going to be disappointed if we don't do it but now that we see that we can do it. It's incredible to be part of this team, part of this family, we are all working hard to achieve our goal and I'm really enjoying playing with my teammates.

"Every one of us adds his little piece to what we are doing. I was really enjoying the season, I know it's not finished yet and we know that we have to keep fighting for the places that we want."

Wolves could also still qualify for next season's Champions League via the Europa League if the competition is able to be completed.
