Slaven Bilic is confident that West Ham United will "bounce back" from Wednesday night's FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester United.

Slaven Bilic has insisted that West Ham United "are going to bounce back" from tonight's FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester United.

After conceding a late goal in the initial tie last month, West Ham took on the Red Devils in the last-ever FA Cup match at the Boleyn Ground but could not advance to the semis as they lost 2-1.

It was the Hammers' first defeat in 12 matches but Bilic is confident that his side can respond in the final weeks of the season.

"It is not what we wanted of course, but we gave our best," Bilic told BBC Sport. "They were better tonight for the majority of the game. We had energy and commitment but they were killing us with ball possession.

"Apart from the first 15 minutes and final 20 they were the better side and we have to admit it.

"We are fighting to finish as high as possible in the league, we have seven big games coming. This is a big disappointment. It takes out a bit of energy and motivation but we still have a big thing to play for. We are going to bounce back."

West Ham are now without a victory in five games after winning six of their previous seven. They next go to Premier League leaders Leicester City on Sunday hoping to cut the five-point gap to Manchester City in fourth.
